Exploring the ‘puck’ mindset

Sarah Trude, our Business Development Director, has an article featured in the April issue of Legal Practice Management where she talks about the ‘puck mindset’. What’s that do we hear you say? Well, it’s in relation to Wayne Gretzky, who is a Canadian former ice-hockey player, where he talks about “skating to where the puck is going to be, not where it has been.”

In the article, Sarah also reveals her key takeaways from this year’s LPM South conference. She covers some of the findings from the LPM legal IT landscapes 2019 report, as well as speakers focussing on the development of firms and what needs to be done to prepare for growth.

This mindset is a fundamental shift from the usual topics which look at the right technology choices. This shift is one that Symphony is right behind, as when we work with our professional services clients we truly understand why they are where they are, and their unique challenges, before there’s any way to begin to know what investment is needed.

If this has given you some food for thought, take a look at the full article here and keep an eye out for Sarah’s regular columns in Legal Practice Management magazine.
